How a bookkeeping file runs
- Set-up. We review the chart of accounts, bank rules, classes or tracking categories and any prior-year adjustments, and agree a checklist with you.
- Weekly or monthly cycle. The bookkeeper codes, matches and posts; the query list goes out on the agreed day.
- Review. A senior checks coding, reconciliations and unusual items, then signs off.
- Hand-back. You receive the reconciled ledger, the query list and a short note of anything you should know.
Software we work in
QuickBooks Online, Xero and Zoho Books, Sage and NetSuite, plus receipt and bill tools such as Dext, Hubdoc and Bill.com, and ecommerce and payment platforms such as Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, Stripe and PayPal. If you use something else, tell us on the scope call.
